[S-series] A quick visit at Kazokutei Plaza Singapura

Hi guys,

This time round, Claire and I decided to walk into Kazokutei at Dhoby Ghaut. We’re always at Dhoby Ghaut, every work day. We meet up there after work to have our dinners before going home together. Once in a while we will splurge a little on our dinner, and this is one of those times. I think I’ve said it before but well whatever, its like an intro to some food review TV program series. LOL.

It seems that different Kazokutei outlets offer menus with a little variety. I’m having the Prawn Tempura Tsukemen with Tonkotsu Spicy dipping sauce. I got to know Tsukemen(s) from Claire, she keep raving on how she read online that tsukemen is awesome. I, for one, always trust ramen submerged in soup. This time I’m being adventurous.

Well if you look at the menu online, they look bloody good. But as with all the menu photos, you can’t expect to get what you see.

The taste, well.. looks just like how it looks.. The Ebi fry isn’t really crispy.. Basically, everything feels like its pre-cooked a while ago, then they just assemble the items and serve. The sauce taste best, probably due to the ajinomoto in it.

Claire chose the Fried Chicken Baked Cheese Rice. Look that that poached egg!

I think this baked rice cannot go wrong. She didn’t talk to me much when she’s having this. That means its tasty. LOL.

Its fried chicken and cheese plus that runny poached egg. What can go wrong seriously? Unless you charred it into charcoal. Maybe.

And so concludes my short post. Kazokutei is a no-frills dining place, with overpriced Japanese fast-food, like most Japanese chain restaurants here in Singapore. Nothing unexpected here. Good for filling your tummy. But, give me a “M” labelled burger meal any day, more value for money.
