Hi,
Now that I’m leaving my current workplace, I regret not updating my life more while I was here. I’m definitely going to miss the 2 girls. Daphne who always calm me down and Jocelyn who always make me laugh. I love the people here. I will miss my mentors too. Both are as crazy as me hahaha. I’m not sure if I would be able to find such a nice environment in the future but I sure hope that if one day I decided to hunt for a full time office job again, I pray that I will meet good and genuine people.
From my experience, I can tell you genuine friends don’t come easily. People betray you, people doubt you, people make use of you and people gossip about you. This is just part and parcel of life.
Daphne and I always have this conversation about work environment and job satisfaction. We agreed that the two factors are equally important but it’s not easy to have both in a job. Eventually you have to decide which one is more important to you and for me it’s job satisfaction.
You might think that it’s very easy for me to tender since I’ve thrown like don’t know how many times in the past 10years.. But it’s not. I’m a very emotional person. I feel for others and I know how sad my colleagues/mentors/boss would be. But they are very supportive and I am really thankful for that.
So now I’m officially counting down to my last day which is 8th June!
April 9th, Monday
Boss called for Tea session today. Last time we have Diane, Syndi, Sandra, me and Daphne, then left the two of us and now since I’m leaving, she would have to attend herself already. :p
Decided to try the malay stall at St Michael interchange today and I ordered kway teow, chilli fishballs and beef rendang. 5 bucks eh quite expensive right? Daphne had nasilemak with fishballs and it was $3.50.
Actually looking at these fish balls made me feel nostalgic. I remembered my favourite Malay stall from my Primary school. The chilli potatoes, the fishballs, the mee soto and etc.. I love the potatoes so much and I even asked my Ahma to cook for me. Hahhaa. I miss being a kid. When I was a kid I just want to grow up and earn money, but now as an adult I just wish I can go back to being a kid and just play and enjoy my life.
Anyway I tend to side track so yeah lets get back to my life now.
That’s my super sinful lunch above and because I was so stressed up today I agreed to have texas chicken for dinner.
I have been eating alot since I came back from Japan. No joke sia. Simon also suddenly became a hardcore gamer. LOL!
Here’s trying the herb and garlic chicken from texas. Not bad leh! I can finally understand why D and J love Texas so much! I think’s its better than Popeyes and KFC but my favourite is still Arnold Chicken even though it is very oily.
Talking about Japan, the impulsive me/us is/are thinking of something again. ;X
April 10, Tuesday
It’s my Ahma’s birthday today!
I knew I would be eating alot in the evening so I suggested to have Yong Tau Foo for lunch. Lucky my colleagues never complained, other wise I would have been so sian.
Before that I had matisu for breakfast! These were really good! They are from Goods Huat Hee! I think Simon got from Alexandra? Can’t wait for Simon to officially move to SK. He can prepare breakfast + lunch for me already. (:(:
Was talking to WP, D and J that evening and our next dinner venue would be at 126 Dim Sum Wen Dao Shi. I can’t wait for my mantou and chilli crab gravy man! J is really a foodie, always suggesting places and bringing us around for food HAHA. She is only 23 by the way.
Went to Northpoint City Fairprice to see what else I could get for my Ahma and saw this kitkat promo with the Marvel free mugs. LOL TOO BIG LEH THE MUGS. The hammer was cute though. I saw durian and I wanted to get some but I forgot all about it after looking at all the other random things. Goodness me.
Then we went to Eu Yan Sang to get birdnest and I became a member. Paid $15 for the membership and was given discount for the birdnest and some vouchers to offset my future purchase.
While I was getting the birdnest, Simon went to get me the Mala red hot spicy chicken from Ke Kou wei – Snackz it as I kept complaining that I was hungry.
Holy cow man. Kinda regretted it. It was not spicy you know, just really NUMB.
Poor Simon had to finish the rest of it because I decided I actually don’t like the taste. Haha.
Spotted Pasar Malam and I was so happy! Hahaha. Got some tapioca cakes (all 3 of us, Simon me and Ahma liked it) and the ‘Shark’s fin soup’.
While I was taking this photo, the tapioca cake nearly slipped from my hand lo. Heng ah.
Also got Arnold Chicken because my Ahma loves it!
And Yay we are home and Happy Birthday Ahma! I didn’t buy cake this year because my uncle told me there were already 2 cakes at home. LOL.
I just don’t understand how they still don’t know what kind of cake my ahma liked. She only likes the mango cake from Four leaves and I buy that every year.
I’m quite surprised that my uncle actually agreed to sing birthday song together this year!!
My Soup!
And a selfie with my ahma hehe. She’s quite traditional la so when I told her I’m trying this new *** she was like WHY!? But eventually she gave in and said ok just go and try if you can do it I will be happy for you too. 😀
I’m always going out of my comfort zone to try new things but this time round it’s an entirely different story so I’m kinda scared and stressed. But like what Simon and all my friends said, you never try you never know so well lets go and try! hahaha.
I just need to be really focused.
Anyway Ahma looked a little emotional today, I thought she teared? I think she must be happy to see I’ve grown up and now so guai will come back and celebrate her birthday HAHAHA. I know growing up she’s always been worried that I will be like my mom and now knowing I’m not and that I’m doing relatively well she must be really relieved and happy.
April 11th, Wednesday.
I applied sick leave today.
Went to see doctor and followed by running some errands, mainly getting my necessities.
I love buying my pads from Venus because it’s cheaper than watsons and guardians hahaha.
Also thinking to get more plants for our home but honestly we really don’t have ‘plant’ hands. All the plants die under our care LOL!
Went to buy dinner for Simon and myself and guess what? I got Koi too! Hahaha.
and I snack on cuttlefish because I’m still hungry.
12th April, Thursday
Had century egg porridge for lunch but it tasted quite funky and I ended up feeling hungry for the rest of the day.
J they all ordered the famous ban mian and I asked for their chilli because it’s dope and damn spicy!
I finally brought my japanese snacks to the office. This soy cracker with black bean was so nice I had to ask Simon to ‘kope’ one from his workplace.
Daphne also got us strawberry cookies from Cameron Highlands! Nice!
Boss offered me the laksa biscuits from Cookie Museum and it tasted really funky wahhaa.
Today I brought J to the Skinceuticals event! She had her caricature done! So cute hor? Hahhaa. I wanted to try also but there were already a long q forming.
And of course some finger food for us!
I was thinking how come I looked so short here leh.. she tiptoe lor. LOL. waiting for her to send me her draft now. lol.
Went home and receive this box from Waseyo. <3
and some quotes to motivate myself!
The above is so true by the way. Not everyone’s lucky enough to find their dream job.
13th April, Friday
Cherry blossom in Thailand, interesting right.
For lunch I had veggies and sushi popiah!
968 Popiah
Nah this is the stall I mentioned in my previous update post. It’s very popular and my office people always try to get this for their meetings.
It’s $2.20 for 4 pieces! damn shiok!
very nice crackers again hehe.
Today I’m meeting Vi and Lloyd for dinner and he suggested Shukuu Izakaya. Damn this guy didn’t made any reservation and we both ladies had to walk around to find an alternative restaurant as the waiting time for Shukuu was 2.5hours.
We ended up having dinner at Dal In Korean Restaurant and I really love the gyozas. We waited for about half an hour btw.
The army stew was okay, it’s quite hard to go wrong with army stew eh.. I like to eat it with rice cake though.
Damn nice the gyozas. Not kidding.
They also gave us some other sides dishes like ikan bilies, kimchi, tauguey and etc but vi and I were more fascinated with the steam egg.
Looks yummy but actually taste quite normal lah.
The total damage was $80++!
After that we went to Sam Yi Tai for drinks and I had mocktail while they enjoyed their alcohol.
Hongkong feel damn strong here.
It was quite a fun night and I didn’t have to pay for anything because the guy got a huge bonus and the lady got a promotion so I got to eat for free hahaha.
14th April, Saturday
Felt really terrible on this day because my period came the night before.
Simon had briyani for brunch and I think I had toasted kaya toast.
In the afternoon I went to mail out items for the winner of my Korea Haul giveaway! Costs me 20 bucks but its okay la.
The staff told me that we are not allowed to send anything that contains liquid or gel like texture to overseas anymore. mmm..
Then we had Cedele for dinner before heading to Decathlon! We are going to camp soon and I can’t wait to share with you! Haha.
I had mushroom soup and his was some lentils soup I guess.
Simon had his usual pesto chicken thins and I had ham and cheese!
I walked passed Breadtalk and nearly got the Messy buns but didn’t because I was feeling really fat lately.
also thought that this cake was very pretty but cannot eat lah.. No occasion also.
Later that night, Simon made cup noodles and he had the Nissin Cup Noodles in laksa flavour.
And I snack while watching Netflix.
April 15th, Sunday.
It was a busy day. I had 3 campaigns with the same deadline and I had to chiong out within a day. Abit stress la but I didn’t ask for extension cos I don’t see the need to. It’s very unprofessional if you don’t commit to the agreed timeline too. Don’t you agree?
I skipped dinner that day and Simon had fried rice for dinner!
but I continue to snack la.. LOL. This was a chocolate by the way. Looks like battery right?
And finally I’ve come to the end of this post and that was how my week ended. Now let me work on the week from 16th to 22nd!
Thank you for reading~
