Melasma, acne scars and dark spots from post acne are some of the common skin concerns we all ladies faced. It is almost impossible to cover even though we might be using the best makeup products in the market.
Especially with the humid weather in Singapore, makeup tends to slide off easily and those marks that you’ve been trying to cover for so long all appear at the end of the day.
To counteract these skin concerns – SkinCeuticals recently launched their latest product- the Discoloration Defense brightening serum and I had the opportunity to attend the media launch at Casa Gessi, Penang Road.
It was a fun night filled with interesting activities like enjoying a short hand mask and massage, caricature drawing and playing with glitter tattoo.
Can I mention how beautiful the interiors are? I guess you can see for yourself!
Claire went ahead for the hand massage and I proceed to get my caricature drawing done.
Isn’t this drawing cute?? The artist is so talented!
We ended up skipping the tattoo and went ahead to grab food before the presentation.
It was an awesome evening and I learnt alot about how our skin works and what we can do to achieve better skin.
SkinCeuticals’ Discolouration Defense serum contains a blend of ingredients that are known to improve skin discoloration, such as:
– 3% Traxemic acid: To minimize reoccurrence of skin discoloration by controlling the release of inflammatory mediators
– 1% Kojic Acid: An ingredient derived from fungi, it helps to restrict the production of Melanin (brown pigment)
– 5% Niacinamide (Vitamin B3): Blocks the melanin transfer from further penetrating into deeper skin layers
– 5% HEPES (Sulfonic Acid): An organic buffering agent that helps to promote skin’s natural exfoliating process.
The serum aims to reduce an average of 60% of hyperpigmentation, while preventing the formation of new dark spots. We can all achieve a brighter overall skin tone in as little as 2 weeks of usage.
It is suitable for all skin types, and free from filling ingredients such as parabens and silicones. There are no added fragrances to the products as well.
It is recommended to use twice a day, after toner and before layering on the rest of your skincare products. The texture of the serum feels a bit tacky to the touch, but it absorbs quickly and doesn’t feel oily at all.
I have already started using this and I can’t wait to see my skin becoming better and brighter!
You know that sentence they said? “There are no ugly women, only lazy ones”? Give your skin some time to heal, let the treatment work its magic and by doing enough protection – these skin concerns will fade away slowly but surely 🙂
And a point to note: Protection is always the key, hence applying sunscreen of at least SPF 30 before heading out during the day will help to protect skin from potential sun damage- which may darken skin spots and prolong the healing process.
