Hi,
I recently got to know that Lomography is releasing a new Color Negative film: the F²/400 film!
This is awesome news for anyone who cares about photography and its future from now, because in the recent years, all we hear were awesome analog films or film formats getting discontinued.. Factories close, companies go bust.. Its just a downward spiral to the seemingly inevitable death of photographic film (apart from maybe the still popular Fujifilm instax film). But any news about new film releases are like the rays of light breaking through the gloomy storm clouds. Hope surrounded by death. Now you guys can see that I watch too much drama(manga) for my own good.
Well the fact is that, after all my self-indulgent drama, this isn’t exactly a “new” film in production. Lomography bought the a roll of film from an Italian filmmaker. Then they…
“left them to age like fine wine in oak casks”
…in the Czech Republic. What a crazy way to create a one-of-a-kind film?! its pretty amazing that it actually still works after 7 years. It now produces refined colors and tones with a cross-processed feel like no other film in the market. Check out the some of the photos from their site below:
If you actually read and understand what I was rambling about above, you may have caught the “bought a roll of film” part. That means, this film is limited edition. Who wouldn’t like a limited ed item right?? And this is one that will keep a moment in your life forever (if you store it properly)! At S$7.65 per 135 roll is a real steal people!
Guys, we need to hurry and pick up a few rolls from Lomography like right now, go outside and start shooting analog like a hipster. Because…
FILM IS NOT DEAD.
