Neal’s Yard Remedies New Oil Free Hydrating Serum review

The new hydrating serum from Neal’s Yard Remedies came at the right time as I was looking for a good serum that can help reduce the oil production on my face.

My face has been very oily lately, and I suspect it is due to my diet and insufficient sleep. I want to try skipping junk food altogether but it is so hard because junks are like my staple food. You know there are people who can’t skip rice? and I’m the type that can’t stop eating junk food. :/

One thing I do realise is that my skin does look better when I sleep before 11pm. But with my busy schedule and all it’s getting harder to sleep before 11 now. Of course I will do my best in these 2 areas (food and sleep) but I also know that skin care plays a very important part too!

I’ve been using the Neal’s Yard Remedies Oil Free Hydrating Serum for a week now and so far I’m very happy with it.

This Oil Free Hydrating Serum adds a layer of mattifying hydration and is perfect for all skin types, ideal for thirsty summer skin, great as a primer, and helps to keep unwanted shine away! The product also contains essential oils and 85% organic ingredients.

The main ingredients include:

  1. Hyaluronic acid and rice extract to rehydrate and gives a smooth, plump and luminous complexion and
  2. Calming willow herbs to soothe and minimise the appearance of pores.

How do I feel about this product? Let’s see:

The smell is quite strong in my opinion, but in a positive way. You know how essential oils make you feel calmer and relax? That’s how I feel when I apply the serum on my face.

The effect is amazing too, even though the texture is light, it hydrates amazingly. My skin has become better in a sense that it’s so much smoother now. Other than that, the serum also helps to soothe and reduce redness on my face.

I feel that the serum can really last me for awhile, even though it’s only 30ml, as I needed only a pump of it for every usage.

As for the pore size.. I haven’t see any significant change yet but of course if there’s any, I will share with you over here!

Overall I am quite happy with this product, and it is definitely a great replacement for what I’m currently using. 🙂
