Hi,
I recently got this (luxury) item for cheap. But cheap isn’t cheap enough for someone drawing a handful of peanuts for a salary like yours truly. Furthermore I’m not a runner, in fact I hate running, So why did I even wanna get this watch?

See the chio aesthetics? Its quite large measuring at about 5cm across and 1.5cm thick. Quite a big watch, but necessary to pack all the tech inside. The buttons are big and chunky and has a nice tactile feel to it. The build quality is superb with the stainless steel bezel and sapphire crystal glass in the middle. Weighing at 85g with the rubber strap will need some getting used to for me who’s used to small and light watches.

Size and weight:
The Fenix 3 back with the contacts for the supplied charger. You simply clip the charger onto the back of the watch and stick the cable into your computer. Charging usually take 1 or 2 hours for me. Your mileage might differ.

In use:
Ok now, I seldom run, I don’t swim, I don’t cycle (not yet).. SO WHAT AM I GONNA USE THIS WATCH FOR???
LOL, well although its built to be a multisport watch, I got this mostly due to its GPS function. Having another GPS enabled device other than your mobile phone gives me a piece of mind. Not that I get lost often. I plan to do more hiking you see. Always would love to hike into uncharted places, and having this watch with me would help. It has all the standard outdoor watch features like the compass, barometer and altimeter. You can set it so that it maps your route and also makes it easy to back track if necessary.
What’s more? This watch is packed with so much features I can map my activities without holding my phone out all the time (for the GPS). See below, if I misplace my phone in a room, I can even remotely make my phone ring so that I can locate it. Nice bonus!

And of course its a nice watch to throw into my EDC. (that salmon cloth appears again.)

In conclusion, to be honest, I haven’t really put this watch through its paces yet. I am too busy with other priorities at this period. So this watch is like an ornament on me now. Soon, I shall use it to its full potential..
Ciao.
Simon
