Hi,
We’re always at Dhoby Ghaut because that’s the best place to meet up with my wife after work. I work near Queenstown, although that’s gonna change in the near future, and wifey works near Selegie Road, and that’s gonna change soon too. I’m off at 5, she’s off at 6. So when I take the direct bus to Dhoby Ghaut from my workplace, its about when she’s off from work. We are always in search of affordable dining places that serves our stomachs efficiently. And we always pass by JustAcia at Dhoby Ghaut. So after putting off this choice for too long, (because its an obvious choice so I refrained from trying it out) we finally bite the bullet.
The food looks like something you will get from a regular ‘Japanese/Korea’ stall most often manned by foreigners from that Big Red Country who speaks my mother tongue better than me. So yeah, its a bit overpriced if you don’t drink free flow instant coffee, soft drinks and free flow ice cream. Yeah man you read that right: FREE FLOW.
We can just buy the cheapest set meal, leave it untouched and freaking binge on the drinks and ice cream!
But hey, not gonna do that, I don’t usually waste food unless its already ‘wasted’. ‘Wasted’ as in dead, rotten dead food. Never mind what I mean. Here are the food:
Claire the health conscious one ordered a plain Dumpling Udon..
And me just whack a Chicken Katsu with Creamy Spaghetti, which is not on the menu online.
On another occasion, Spaghetti Aglio Olio with Chicken Teriyaki Set for me and…
Then the health conscious Claire with.. erm.. Dory Fish with Ginger Sauce Set..
Well the food isn’t the best, its alright, just don’t order healthy looking dishes because they really do taste healthy.. Well slightly healthier compared to other dishes, because everything is laden with Ajinomoto. But due to convenience of this place, located just a level above MRT at Dhoby Ghaut Exchange, we went there about 3 times altogether.
Another thing that drew us there is the free flow stuff. The drinks and ice cream more than cover up for the lack-luster dishes. JustAcia is a place that promotes Asia food, but then we were drawn to it by the freebies. Who cares when we get free flow ice creams.
I apologise for not having photos of the ice cream and drinks bar, I also cleanly forgotten what flavours etc are offered there, its the Mingo Ice cream with at least 4 flavours. Coffees were the standard press-button latte or cappucinos and such.
Go try it out, you won’t break a bank doing that, and if you don’t wanna have any of the food, just go grab some ice cream and coffee like its afternoon tea.
