E44, S-series: Cook Mee by Wheat, Raffles Xchange

Hi,

Its me again with yet another food post.

Damn did I use this line already?

Well what are we if we don’t ingest other animals as sustenance? Bless their souls, for I am grateful.

It was a weekday night when I always meet the wifey for dinner. She had an errand to Raffles Place and so we just decided to have dinner there before all the stall closes. I remember we’ve seen this stall before and said we wanted to try it someday, well here’s our chance now.

The stall is named “CookMee by Wheat” and they serve rice bowls and ramen. The concept is quite interesting, Dry tossed ramen and stuff you see, with localized seasonings like ‘hebi-hiam’ or dried shrimp sambal. Its targeted at the office crowd in the area, a quick meal which you can customized to your heart’s content.

I of course would choose ramen over the rice bowl and dry toss ramen. But I regretted my decision. Because Claire’s rice bowl looks really tasty!

After the mixing, the onsen egg and all became a mixture of awesomeness. Its amazing how an egg can make a dish so much nicer.

And below is my ramen. The soup and the noodles are separated, I’m not sure, am I supposed to dip my noodles in or mix them.

In the end, I mixed them and they taste bland. Probably because the soup kinda diluted all the seasonings. I guess i should’ve ate them separately.

Cook mee By Wheat is a casual dining outlet. It just works serving piping hot food to those office workers in the vicinity. Its quick, its efficient and its tasty. I won’t say it taste like those atas restaurant, but its on a level higher than most hawker fare. Except for the Michelin starred ones of course. LOL.

Do pay them a visit and check out their creative presentation of ramen and rice bowls.
